Seedy Jeezus is a Melbourne-based power trio formed in 2010, blending 60s psychedelic rock with 70s heavy riffs to create a sound that's both nostalgic and modern. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Lex Waterreus, bassist Paul Crick, and drummer Mark Sibson, the band is renowned for their high-energy live performances and improvisational prowess. Their discography includes the self-titled debut (2015), Polaris Oblique (2018), and the double live album The Hollow Earth (2022). Collaborations like Tranquonauts with Isaiah Mitchell and Tony Reed further showcase their cosmic explorations. Their upcoming album, Damned to the Depths (August 2025), introduces progressive elements while retaining their signature heavy sound. Seedy Jeezus continues to push the boundaries of heavy psychedelic rock, earning acclaim in the global underground scene.
Damned To The Depths is set for release in August 2025, Damned to the Depths marks the next evolution in the Seedy Jeezus sound. Written and refined over three years, the album introduces decadent prog elements and multi-song suites that channel the influence of Animals–era Pink Floyd, In the Court of the Crimson King–era King Crimson, and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway–era Genesis.Produced once again by Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Pentagram, Big Scenic Nowhere), who has helmed all of the band’s studio efforts, the album harnesses raw energy and emotional weight, exploring themes of death and the fragility of grief and loss. While it pushes sonic boundaries with 70s synths and Mellotron textures, it retains the signature Seedy punch—still heavy, still heady, and now even more heartfelt.
The album will be available through Lay Bare Recordings (EU), Echodelick Records (USA) and from Seedy Jeezus (AU).
